Voter Education & Registration for People w/ Criminal Records

Community | Personal Project

The election in 2020 felt pivotal for so many reasons. The uprisings put health and criminal justice reform front and center, and it seemed so clear at the time which part+candidate would advocate for reform that would positively impact more than just them.

I teamed up with a local reform organization to educate and register people with criminal records to vote. We canvassed the city with fliers, built an online resource, and stood outside grocery stores on NFL gamedays to sign people up.

Deep gratitude to the volunteers who helped organize, educate, and register voters with criminal records: Katherine Hambrick, Zach Linhares, Na’im Al-Amin, and Angelica Chavez-Duckworth.
